2016 dates: Every Saturday October 1 to December 17

2017 Market Dates TBA (check back soon)

Our Indoor Markets started in 2002 for the Fall harvest seasons only.  In response to a growing demand for local food year-round, in 2011 we began our Winter Market.  Until we can find the funds to build a dedicated Market under cover, we are grateful to the Smithers Curling Club for renting us space in their facility.

We have about 15-20 vendors all winter and are able to offer a large array of food, including:

  • fresh bread & pastriesIndoor Market
  • fresh pea shoots
  • artisan cheese
  • carrots, potatoes, beets, squash and other hardy vegetables
  • meat
  • eggs
  • jams, jellies & preserves
  • spices
  • delicious treats like marshmallows and chocolates

We have several vendors providing hot foods (like samosas and calzones, organic ham & egg breakfast buns, and a traditional British ‘fry-up’) and beverages including coffee, tea and chai.

Many of our artists and craftspeople attend all winter, offering a selection of soaps and other body care, jewelry, knitted and hand-sewn clothing, plus cards, carvings, wood work, and much more.

In 2014/2015, we introduced live music every Saturday to the Indoor Market.  It was so popular that we plan to continue as long as the musicians do.

So, come and join us for local food, local talent, and a chance to chat with your friends over a hot drink in a warm place!

Parking at the Indoor Market:

There is ample free parking in a paved lot right next to the Curling Rink.

Wheelchair & Stroller Access to the Indoor Market:

There are double-doors and a fairly flat entrance to the Curling Rink, so both wheelchairs and strollers can enter.  Space is very tight inside and so you may find movement difficult there.  We would like to do all we can to facilitate access, so please let us know if you are having any trouble.

Credit/Debit Cards & ATMs at the Indoor Market:

While most vendors are only set up for cash, several now also have “Square” and welcome payments by credit card.  There is an ATM about 5 blocks away.  We are not able to accept debit cards at this time.
